Donate a pad to Moontime Sisters
Every month, we partner with an organization doing charitable work in the field of health, menstrual equity, and women's empowerment.
For July-August 2021, we have partnered with Moontime Sisters Ontario!
Moon Time Sisters is a volunteer organization that began in Saskatchewan in January 2017 by a Metis woman named Nicole White. Nicole learned about young girls and two-spirited menstruators in remote northern communities who were not attending school due to lack of access to menstrual products.
Nicole then gathered support from her community to send up these much needed items, free of charge, and Moontime Sisters was born! Veronica Brown then began the Ontario chapter in March 2017, and has sent up over 500,000 pads, tampons, cloth pads, cups, and heating pain relief items to Ontario, Quebec, and Nunavut.
Moontime Sisters is an organization that strives to support period inequity within northern communities, and also teach non-Indigenous people about colonial barriers faced by Indigenous Nations, Indigenous histories, and the resurgence and resilience of the community.
Moontime Sisters aligns all of their work with the Sacred Medicine Wheel, the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), and the Articles from the United Nations Declaration of the Rights for Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
