There are tons of wonderful herbs & teas to help address period pain… but what if you don’t have them when the need strikes??
We wanted to share this easy recipe for cinnamon & ginger tea, because you only need 2 ingredients that you may already have in your pantry!
Why cinnamon and ginger? Well, they’re delicious, comforting, AND they both have specific traits that can help take the edge off your cramps and discomfort!
stabilizes blood sugar, which helps regulate mood swings, irritability, and food cravings
- helps dilate blood vessels, which encourages circulation and helps your blood flow easier, so your body doesn’t have to work as hard during your period!
wonderful aid for menstrual pain, as it specifically helps to warm and relax the pelvic region, and increases circulation to that area!
anti-inflammatory and a blood sugar stabilizer
reduces nausea and helps with indigestion, both of which are common side effects during menstruation
- warms you up from head to toes, helping you relax and ease tension that comes with being cold, stiff, or sore!
What you’ll need:
2 cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
2 inches of fresh ginger root, sliced into thin coins
4 quarts of water
(these measurements are just a guideline… these ingredients are very forgiving, and you can use whatever you have!)
-Add the cinnamon sticks and ginger slices to a pot filled with cold water
-Bring to a boil, then simmer for at least 20 minutes, or longer
-Strain out the pieces
-Serve immediately and/or store the remainder in the fridge!
Sip cinnamon ginger tea and feel your body relax!
