"After researching this product for a while now, I went ahead and made my first purchase this past week. I love the fun, girly fabric of my large PIMP, wished it was a little bigger though (I'm curvie). I love the idea of these Pads. In such a "disposible world" it is refreshing to toss something in the washer, rather than in the trash bin where it will just end up in a landfill somewhere. And aside from that, I just can't afford to keep throwing my money away."
My daughter gave me a Large size pad because she knows I have trouble with the perimenopausal flooding. I am forever outdoors, on a horse, a bike, kayak, skis, or trail. Disposable pads shred and bunch and disintegrate with the sweat and exertion of extreme sports, and I was anticipating a few more years of planning my escapades and races around my periods. With my PIMP pad, I have no fear of the problems that I was encountering with regular pads and tampons. I'm totally sold and will be placing an order with my next paycheck.
"When I first saw Luci selling PIMPs, I thought to myself, "Finally!!" For me, periods have always been accompanied with painful cramps making tampons unbearable and disposable pads are uncomfortable and often ineffective. In reading about the way differing cultures regard this sacred passing of a potential life, I have also come to see the western cultural practice of prescribing tampons and plugs as just another way to contain, control and shame us into thinking that there is something wrong with our bodies. To put an object into our bodies to prevent it from doing what it naturally wants and needs is barbaric, unhealthy and unfortunate. Girls: don't stifle your sneeze, hold back your laughter and above all else let it flow....."
"I've always sewn clothes, regailia for traditional Native American dances and ceremonies, and tried in some way to keep resonance with what I believe. The moon time is always special, although when you travel thousands of miles, it gets a bit complicated to be in touch with yourself. I've hated disposable products, and this is the way to go. I love Luci and her way to help us all be real with our bodies and the earth."
